The 2025 Students’ Chaplaincy Council (SCC) Week Celebration at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi has concluded with strong calls for youth leadership, integrity, and national transformation.
The week-long event, themed “Anagkazo”, a Greek word meaning "to compel", featured spiritual, social, and wellness-focused activities that united students from various denominations.

Apostle Samuel Amponsah, Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church International, delivered a sermon urging students to become a generation of genuineness driven by optimism and truth.
He encouraged them to rise and lead the nation toward the political and socioeconomic freedom Ghana urgently needs.
As campus elections approach, students, especially those aspiring to leadership roles, were encouraged to lead with heart and campaign with integrity.
Throughout the week, students participated in activities including Mass Prayers, Mass Evangelism, Music and Drama Night, and a Soccer & Bible Study Picnic. All events were held in the evenings, except for Saturday’s picnic, which took place in the morning.
The celebration culminated on Sunday with a well-attended Thanksgiving Service.

Professor Marian Asantewah Nkansah, Director of the Directorate of Student Affairs, encouraged students to prioritize their wellbeing. She urged them to utilize the KNUST Counselling Centre (KCC), attend health screenings, and refer friends who might need help.
“Talk to the right people and encourage others to come as well,” she said.
Security tips were also shared with the student body in preparation for the upcoming Student Week, officially scheduled to launch on July 15, 2025.
Additionally, students were reminded of the prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Students’ Excellence Awards (VC-SEA) and the need to maintain good academic and disciplinary standing for consideration.
